Michael Crossland is a Specialist Optometrist in low vision at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, and an Honorary Senior Research Associate at UCL. His PhD was awarded by the University of London in 2004 for work on the development of the preferred retinal locus in people with macular disease, supervised by Gary Rubin and Louise Culham. He has over 30 papers in the peer reviewed literature and has given invited talks in France, the Netherlands, Sweden, Spain, Portugal, Malaysia, Australia, Norway, Denmark, Canada and the USA. He is an examiner for the College of Optometrists, and sits on the College's low vision higher qualifications committee. He lives in West London with his wife and daughter.
