Mufarriq Shah

Mufarriq Shah gained his BSc in optometry and vision sciences and his MSc in Physics from the University of Peshawar in Pakistan. He gained his Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Clinical Optometry from the University of Melbourne, Australia. He has gained several awards including, in 1998, a Gold medal Award at Alshifa Trust Eye Hospital, Pakistan and in December 2005 a Fellowship American Academy of Optometry (FAAO), USA. Mufarriq’s research interests include causes of low vision amongst low vision patients in Pakistan, clinical profile of amblyopia in Pakistani children, visual rehabilitation of patients with Stargardt’s disease, causes of Vision Impairment in paediatric low vision patients.

Mufarriq is currently working as a Senior Lecturer at Pakistan Center For Vision Sciences, Peshawar and an Optometrist at the Khyber Institute of Ophthalmic Medical Sciences, Peshawar, where he provides clinical services in Orthoptics and paediatric Optometry, contact lenses, Paediatric Low Vision and Adult Low Vision.
