Dr. Veera Ramani has an MBBS from Madurai, India, an FRCS from Glasgow and Edinburgh, and an FRCOphth from London. Her subspecialty interest has been cornea and refractive surgery. With 30 years of experience, she is well recognised in and around Malaysia. She has been very active in prevention of blindness and low vision. She is the current Deputy President of the Malaysian Association for the Blind (MAB). She is a practicing consultant in The Tun Hussein Onn National Eye Hospital which was established by MAB. She was instrumental in setting up Low Vision clinics in the hospital and at the MAB. She was also instrumental in a successful International Low Vision Conference in 2011 in Kuala Lumpur.
