Dr. Hilde PA van der Aa is a senior researcher at Amsterdam University Medical Centers in The Netherlands and the Lighthouse Guild in New York USA. She comes with 11 years of experience in the field of low vision. She aims to improve the quality of life of blind and visually impaired people by initiating and conducting high quality research, educating professionals, researchers and students in low vision rehab and ophthalmic care, and embedding research output and evidence-based interventions in clinical practice.
She specializes in research on quality of life, mental health, eHealth and assistive technology for people with vision impairment. Her career to date has provided her with invaluable knowledge, skills and contacts in this field.
