Nilima Tanna received her Occupational therapy degree from Mumbai, India. She is an experienced Occupational Therapist, with 20+ years in the field of vision rehabilitation. She has specialty certification in low vision (SCLV) from the American Occupational Therapy Association and is a certified low vision therapist (CLVT) from Academy for the Certification of Vision Rehabilitation and Educational Professionals (ACVREP). She brings a multifaceted experience with demonstrated success in quality program development, building and leading strong teams, creating documentation systems with outcome measures, and collaborative working relationships with the medical community and community organizations. She is passionate about advocacy for her profession and clients, and delivery of quality services for clients with vision impairment. She has worked in settings ranging from rehabilitation facilities, low vision clinics at academic institutions, Non-profit organization etc. Her roles have ranged from providing direct services to program development. Additionally, she has been a consultant with Second Sight and VisionCare technologies. She owns her private practice serving the elderly with vision impairment, works part time at a UCI’s low vision clinic and co-owns a consulting business for OTs wanting to start their private practice. She is also serving on the Board of Directors at ACVREP, is on the Practice, ethics, and reimbursement committee at the Occupational therapy association of California and is on the administrative team of the Vision Rehab Occupational Therapy Association (VROTA).
